Spring Break - Day 5

Today we went to Fernbank Museum of Natural Sciences with Grandpa and Grandma and then we all met up with Mama Cook and Papa Doug at the Varsity for dinner.  We all enjoyed the museum very much and had a great time together.
Reece missed a whole week of Kindergarten because they have a different Spring Break than her sisters.  She would have been studying Dinosaurs in school so she learned about them at the museum instead.
This was a neat ultralight plane that you could pretend to fly and you were trying to help these whooping cranes (on the screen) to migrate to their wintering grounds.
The girls pretending to be turtles.
My Indian Princess name when I was a little girl was "walking turtle."  The girls and Tony have always found this very funny and make fun of me that I am slow.  So, Regan insisted I pose for this picture.  Dad, why did I choose that name when we were in Indian Princesses together??  I should have chose running rabbit. :)
Grandma is trying to see if she is stronger then an Orangutan.
My turn to try it out, I was stronger than I thought but still not stronger than an Orangutan.

Good one Regan!
This was a children's play area that the adults found just as fun as the kids!  This stream would show fish swimming by when you stood on the water.  You can't see them in this picture but they were there.  It was really neat and Grandpa and Grandma were fascinated by it.
Grandpa trying to "catch" a fish. :)
This was a neat tree fort that you could climb in/up and run all over.  The kids enjoyed this as well as Tony and I.
Grandpa and Grandma playing again. :)  Now they are looking for bats.
This was a cool ocean themed area.  They had computers that you could play games on or learn about different animals in the ocean.

Spring Break - Day 6

Today we went over to GP and GG Walker's condo and then we went to lunch with GP and GG, Uncle Dave and Mama Cook.  After lunch, we went to a fun park near GP and GG's condo.  The girls had a great time playing with their Uncle Dave and I enjoyed talking with Mama Cook and GG.  Thursday night we went out to dinner with my parents and Tony's parents to Longhorn's Steakhouse and then we headed back to Cook and Doug's house to Skype Great Grandpa, Great Grandma, Aunt Ann-Marie and Uncle Dick.
Skyping Papa Doug's family in NY.

Spring Break - Day 7

Today we went to Aunt Kim's Bookfair at the library where she works.  The girls enjoyed seeing their Aunt and Regan was very envious of her Aunt's job (she is a Media Specialist).  Aunt Kim bought Regan and Reece some books for their birthday which made them very happy.  We spent the rest of the day at Grandma and Grandpa's house playing games, making cookies, and relaxing.
The girls with Aunt Kim and Kermit the Frog.
This is a neat mural that Aunt Kim painted in her library.  Aunt Kim is quite the artist and very creative!
This is the other view of Aunt Kim's library which she also painted and decorated.
The girls helped Grandpa stuff Easter Eggs for their church egg hunt.
 Decorating and eating Gingerbread cookies.

Spring Break - Day 8

Today we were supposed to go back to NC but since I was sick most of the week we decided to extend our trip one more day so I could have some time with Doug and Cook.  We spent the morning and afternoon with them and enjoyed a trip up to Batesville, Ga.  We went to a pottery shop called, Mark of the Potter, and watched them making pottery, shopped in the neat store, and enjoyed the beautiful stream behind the store.  The girls had fun feeding the fish.  We then headed to the Batesville General Store for lunch.  It is a quaint little restaurant with good food and yummy desserts.  When we got back Regan played the flute for Mama Cook and Papa Doug, Riley tried to beat Papa Doug in Chess and we had a family prayer time.  Then we had to say, goodbye, which is never easy!  Thanks Doug and Cook for a fun week and we look forward to seeing y'all again sometime this summer.

Saturday night we had a great dinner with my parents and then Kim, Jeff and Jonathon came over to say, goodbye.  It was a great week with everyone and we thank all of you for taking time out of your schedules to spend time with us!!!
