Mother's Day 2010

I had a wonderful Mother's Day on May 9, 2010. My parents spent the weekend with us and came to church with us on Sunday. They had to leave after church to head back home. Tony and the girls took me to my favorite place for lunch, Buffalo Wild Wings. YUM!!!! I have a weakness for Buffalo wings. Then, we came home and I took a long nap. It was a beautiful afternoon so we went to one of my favorite places, Ayr Mount. We walked around the meditation trail (which is not much of a meditation trail when my girls are with us) and then relaxed in the adirondack chairs overlooking the pond. It was a peaceful, relaxing afternoon (well, as peaceful as it can be with 3 young children in tow). :) Then, we headed to Mapleview Ice Cream for dessert. It was a wonderful day. I am so blessed to be the mom of three precious girls. They bring us great joy! Grandpa and Grandma with the girls.
It was a blessing to spend Mother's Day morning with my mom.

I am so blessed by these precious girls! They make me a proud mommy.

Under the Sea Musical...

Regan and Riley participated in the Church of the Good Shepherd Choir again this year. Every spring they do a musical. This year they did the musical, "Under God's Sea in 3-D." They did a great job. Here is part of the set. Many parents worked hard on making this set. They did a fabulous job.Regan was a jellyfish in the musical. Riley and Regan singing. Riley is on the far right of the first row and Regan is directly two rows up behind Riley.

Grandparent's Day at Trinity

Trinity School had Grandparent's Day on May 7. There was a music assembly first and then the Grandparents could come tour the childrens' classrooms. My parent's were able to come up this year for Grandparent's Day. It was a special day.
Here is a bulletin board that was in Riley's classroom that said, "Grandparents make us smile." Riley's self portrait is the second picture on the top left. Riley's class did a folk dance at the music assembly.

Riley's Gymnastics Recital...

Riley had her first gymnastics recital on May 1, 2010. We were not allowed to take photos or videos during the recital so this is the only two photos I have. Riley did a great job and really seemed to enjoy it. The recital was at Page Auditorium at Duke.

Riley's Field Day at Trinity - April 30

Riley had a great time at field day this year. Her teacher took these photos. Riley and her dear friend, Lizzie, are playing a fun water game. Riley is blindfolded and has to listen to Lizzie's directions. Lizzie is trying to get Riley close to other people and then they squirt them with water from mustard bottles. Riley said she accidentally squirted Lizzie once. Playing "hot potato" with a big red ball

Playing "over and under" with a large, wet sponge.
Playing Tug-of-war.

Dog Lover...

Riley really loves dogs. At our churchwide Easter picnic one of the families brought their dog, Chaz. Riley fell in love with him and played with him most of the picnic and walked him around. This is the first time we have really seen her actually getting close to/interacting with a big dog. Chaz is so good around children and is a very sweet dog. Ever since the picnic, Riley is constantly asking to have playdates with Chaz. So, we had the Kim's come over one night for a cookout and they brought Chaz so Riley could play with him. She and Chaz became best buds and were playing fetch, walking together, and flat wearing each other out. Tony and I do not want a dog anytime soon, if ever, so Riley is living through our friends' dogs right now. :) The Kim's are really sweet about letting Riley spend time with Chaz. They live in the neighborhood behind ours so we have gotten together with them a couple of times to walk Chaz. It started raining but Riley did not care. She just put her raincoat on and went back outside with Chaz.

Y Guides Camping Trip - April 2010

On the weekend of April 9 -11, Regan (Reading Raccoon) and Daddy (Bald Eagle) attended their second Y Guide camp in Arapahoe, NC. They had a great weekend. They enjoyed BB gun shooting, archery, digging for shark teeth, canoeing, riding bikes, and holding snakes. Here are some photos in no particular order. Regan showing off a shark tooth she found. She found 149 shark teeth this year. Here is the inside of the cabin where Daddy and Regan's tribe stayed.

Daddy said Regan rode her bike everywhere. He could not keep up with her on foot. He made the mistake of not taking his bike.

Regan and Daddy enjoyed BB gun shooting. Regan hit the bullseye.

Regan held many snakes. She really enjoyed this part.

Regan enjoying holding a snake. Unbelievable!!! This was one of the highlights of her weekend.
