Disney Trip - Day Two...

On Monday, March 8th we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom. We had a beautiful day and the park was not too crowded. The girls enjoyed the DinoLand and spent quite a while there. DinoLand had a fun TriceraTop Spin ride that we rode several times. There was also a huge playland and you could dig for dinosaur bones. This was one of the girls' highlights and they spent almost an hour in the Dino Playland. Some of the other highlights of the day were the amazing Nemo Musical, Kilimanjaro Safari ride where we saw baby giraffes, elephants, alligators, and many other animals, we also enjoyed Rafiki's Planet Watch where you could walk among animals like goats and sheep and even groom them. The girls thoroughly enjoyed grooming the sheep and watching the playful goats. We finished our day seeing some of the Disney Characters and seeing the Lion King Show. Reece fell asleep during the show so I don't think she was very impressed. The Animal Kingdom closed at 5 pm so we were able to eat dinner at the cabin and get to bed very early. The Tree of Life

This was a large dinosaur that you walk under to get into DinoLand. Can you find us in the photo.

This was the huge play area in DinoLand.

Digging for bones

We have obviously had too much snow this year b/c Reece decided to make a "snow" angel in the sand. She had sand everywhere.

Riley was very excited to see Goofy and Pluto and to get their autographs.

This was a mother Gorilla nursing her baby. The baby was so cute.

Alligators that we saw on our safari ride.

This was the baby giraffe we saw. Reece was so excited she yelled out, "Daddy get a picture!"

Grooming the sheep. The girls really enjoyed this.

These goats were putting on quite a show - they kept head butting each other and would back up and get a running start. They were so funny.

Posing with Jiminy Cricket. Reece is not in this photo because she was scared of him.

Posing with Rafiki - Reece was not fond of him either but she let me hold her in this photo.

Reece playing the drums in Africa.

Posing with Minnie - Reece was very excited to see Minnie and went right up to her. The first character she cared about today.

Riley was very excited about seeing Goofy twice in one day.

Disney Trip - Day One...

On Sunday, March 7th we made our second stretch of the trip to Disney. We only had 4 hrs. to go from Savannah. We stopped in Jacksonville, FL to eat lunch at Tony's Aunt and Uncle's house. We had a good time catching up with them and eating lunch together. Unfortunately, I left my camera in the car so I do not have any photos with Aunt Diane and Uncle Steve (sorry Mama Cook). We arrived in Disney around 3:30 and got settled in our cabin at Fort Wilderness Disney Resort. We had a neat little cabin tucked in the woods (or you may call it a swamp after all the rain we got.) The girls loved their room and did well sleeping together. Tony and I had a Murphy Bed and the girls found this fascinating. Once we got settled we had dinner at the cabin and then headed off to a sing-a-long and campfire roast with Chip and Dale. The girls enjoyed eating smores, dancing and singing, and meeting Dale the Chipmunk. It was a great first night at Disney. Here are some pictures in no order... The girls enjoying smores
beautiful sunset - this was taken from our resort's dock

Regan was fascinated by all the Spanish Moss. Regan and Daddy had fun looking up Spanish Moss on google to find out more about it.

Our family with Dale. Reece is not too sure about Dale.

Our bed magically appeared from the wall - definitely Disney!!! The girls were fascinated.

Disney Trip - On the Road...

We went to Disney World this past week for Regan and Riley's Spring Break. We left on Saturday, March 6th and drove more than halfway to Savannah. We ate dinner in Savannah and walked around. We saw a lot of crazy people dressed up for St. Patrick's Day (early). There were a lot of men running around in green dresses, tutus, wings, etc. Riley lost a tooth on the way down to Savannah so when Reece saw all the men in tutus and wings she hollered, "Look Riley it is the Tooth Fairy." We got a great laugh out of this. Tony then replied, "Yes Reece some would say they are fairies." :) At dinner, we had a window view and the girls were glued to it watching all the crazy green people/fairies go by. It was amazing how many CRAZY, intoxicated people there were. Reece kept us laughing with all her comments about them. Then, when we were walking back to our car Reece spotted a canon and said, "look a telescope." We were not sure what she was talking about for a minute and then we spotted some canons on display. Needless to say, our night in Savannah was very eventful. We ended the night with a walk along the riverfront, seeing the sunset and then retreating to our hotel for the night on the outskirts of Savannah.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

On Tuesday, March 2 it was Dr. Seuss's Birthday. So, we had a special night at our Chick-fil-A restaurant for Kid's Night. I borrowed a costume and dressed up as "Cat in the Hat." The kids made ice cream sundaes for the craft and I did story time with the kids - reading several of the Dr. Seuss books. Although I looked very silly in the costume, it was fun. Tony brought the girls up to the store because he did not want to miss me dressing up.

Circus Fun...

We took the girls to the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey circus on Friday, February 26. Before the circus they had a "meet the animals" openhouse in the parking lot. Reece was very excited to see the elephants up close. She was even more excited to see an elephant named "Sarah" since that is what she named her toy elephant she got at the circus last year. We were not able to take our camera into the circus so we only got pictures outdoors.
Sarah the elephant.

Reece is grinning ear to ear.

The tigers were loving on each other - how cute.

Weekend with Grandpa and Grandma...

This weekend my parents came up to visit. The weekend was filled with flowers, candy, cards, dancing, 2" of snow, visiting the new library in town, lots of reading, watching the Olympics and playing Wii. On Sunday, Grandpa and Grandma came to our new church with us. It was a great weekend. Tony brought this beautiful bouquet home to me and the Carnations for my mother and the girls. What a sweet Valentine!!!!

Enjoying Valentine's Day and getting ready for church. My parents gave each girl money in their Valentine Cards. They were very excited. Regan immediately said she is going to buy books with her money (imagine that!), Riley said she was going to buy a real dog and Reece said she is going to buy a real rabbit. Again, Regan is the only one being realistic!

Grandpa and Riley playing Cadoo. They are on a team together and Riley can't read the answer and Grandpa can't see the answer - what a pair!!!

Grandma reading to Reece and Riley.

Daddy/Daughter Dance 2010...

This was the first year that all three girls joined Daddy for the annual Daddy/Daughter Dance. They have been talking about it for weeks and were very excited. Grandpa and Grandma were also in town so the girls had the pleasure of being escorted by their Daddy and Grandpa. It was a very special night.

Reece is very excited about her first Valentine's Dance.

Grandpa and Reece love to dance so they were dancing the night away.

Reece is thoroughly enjoying herself.

I can't believe my dad did this. I am thankful he did not throw his back out.

Reece almost asleep on Grandpa. When they got home Reece told us, "Grandpa wore me out and I wore Grandpa out!"

Regan and Riley doing the Limbo. Regan and Riley had fun at the dance too. They spent most of their night running around with their friends. But, they did drag Tony out on the dance floor a few times. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of them dancing.

Regan had a great time with her friend, Hannah.
