4th of July 2011

Every 4th of July we try to get together with our dear friends, the Stepp's.  Last year, we were not able to because we were in Georgia.  So, it was nice to continue our tradition this year with them.  Tony and Dave grilled out during a very bad thunderstorm, so bad that a clap of thunder was so close and loud it made Tony jump, and the heavy rain put the fire out in the grill.  It made for a very eventful dinner.  After dinner, the rain stopped just enough for us to get our annual Fernandez/Stepp firework show in.  Our friends, the Carlson's, joined us for the firework show along with our friends, Megan and Mark, that live a few houses down.  We had a garage full of people and a pretty good firework show.  All we needed was some music to go along with the fireworks.  We will have to do that next year!
Regan got brave this year and helped light some of the fireworks.
Reece's turn lighting a firework with the help of daddy.
How many fireworks does it take to launch the kids to the second floor of the house??
It started to rain again so we started lighting multiple fireworks at the same time.  Hannah and Regan got very good at this.
Dave and Justin found it very fun to see how many fireworks they could light without catching themselves on fire.  Although, take note how big Regan and Hannah's are and how little Dave and Justin's are.  I am glad we put safety as our main priority of the night!?
An audience full of ooos and ahhs.
